Dulcy tries to come to his aid, but she seems to be reacting strangely to something. Robotnik finally has the hedgehog under glass, but Dulcy uses her ice breath to make the save. They return to Knothole on a rough landing, rougher than usual for Dulcy. Meanwhile, a thawed Robotnik realizes that there might be more dragons out there that he hasn't roboticized. All while Uncle Chuck bugs Robotnik's headquarters.
Things seem to be getting worse for Dulcy as more strange things seem to be happening to her. She can't control her wings and it's getting worse by the minute. Saly and Sonic follow yhe out of control dragon, as do Robotnik and Snively.
Dulcy is so out of it, she doesn't even notice Robotnik's goons snaring her. Sally manages to get her senses going as she manages to save both Sonic and Sally. Later, Dulcy tells them that her dreams were telling her to go to Dragon's Nest, where all the female dragons go to lay their eggs and adolescents are drawn to return. Robotnik also realizes this and is ready to hunt the nest.
Despite their best efforts, Dulcy still leaves them for the mountains. Sonic uses his Power ring to bring him and Sally to the mountains. However, it turns out they may be too late as Robotnik manages to get the other remaining dragon before Dulcy showed up. All that reamains is a rather bouncy egg. They have to save the mother, but with the egg close to hatching, therein lies the conundrum.
As Sonic and the others try to make it to Knothole, they get chased by another of Robotnik's vehicles. But it turns out that Dulcy's flying doesn't lead to a cataclysmic crash as they manage to escape. They arrive at Knothole and dump the egg laying duties to Bunnie while the others go to Robotropolis. Sonic learns from Uncle Chuck that the mother dragon is being led to the roboticizer.
Sally, Dulcy and Sonic manage to easily make waste of the swat bots. In fact, this might be the easiest defeat of Robotnik's forces ever. I mean wow, I know Robotnik usually fails on a spectacular level, but this one, this is just a bad day for the ol' egg head.
We end at knothole as the baby dragon finally hatches. The mother dragon thanks the others for their help, and goes to take the baby to a place to be protected from Robotnik. Rotor also gives Dulcy knee pads to finally help with her rough landings.
Dulcy was a decent episode, if not a bit underwhelming. You'd think with an episode that covers some dragon lore that we would get a lot of it in this episode. If the last few episodes have shown, this season has been much stronger with lore. Unfortunately it feels like we spend way too much time with Dulcy's flying problems to really get into what could be a meaty story. I like Dulcy's character, more or less a smarter version of Launchpad McQuack with how she can't seem to stick the landing, and while we do get a small snippet of backstory for her, it really doesn't feel like she gets any interesting character development. Which hurts for an episode with her name in the title. In the end, this sadly just becomes another dense episode. One that kinda disappointed. Next time, we are getting back to the meaty elements of season two as we enter The Void.
